Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care for SIH patients in Carbondale. You will assess patients' mental, physical, and spiritual needs and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, patient- and family-centered care.

Required education includes an RN degree and Illinois license, plus CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications. You will document accurately, teach health concepts, supervise staff as needed, and participate in

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an approved program.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health.
• Demonstrate clinical judgement with critical thinking to respond to changes in patient condition.
• Complete and timely documentation in the patient medical record.
• Contribute to policy development to support patient safety and quality of care.
• Supervise licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistive personnel as delegated.
• Advocate for the patient by communicating with care professionals.
• Complete required education and licensure in a timely manner.
• Float to other SIH units within competency level.

Role Specific Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide in health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients
• Demonstrate ability to use clinical judgement in conjunction with critical thinking to recognize, act upon, and report changes in patient condition.
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record
• Provide input into the development of policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care
• Supervision and delegation responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistant personnel
• Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals
• Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level

Compensation (Commensurate with experience): $31.25 To $49.06
