Position

Interventional Radiology Technologist

Compensation & Benefits

This position includes a $10,000 sign‑on bonus and up to $5,000 relocation bonus. Salary: Hourly (Pay Grade Health-28). Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Work shift: Day shift, rotating 4–10 hour shifts per week (7:30 a.m.–6 p.m.) with minimal call requirements. Periodic weekend and off‑hour call will be required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with image‑guided minimally invasive procedures for diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • Insert instruments (catheters, wires) using X‑ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other imaging modalities.
  • Maintain sterile technique, operate equipment, and perform quality assurance of imaging.
  • Prepare, administer, and document contrast throughout procedures.
  • Corroborate patient clinical history with procedure and document accurately for the clinician.
  • Provide compassionate patient care, including communication, assessment, and monitoring.
  • Post‑process digital data for display or hard‑copy records, ensuring technical quality and proper identification.
  • Resolve equipment issues and demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies, and equipment operation (fluoroscopy, US, ancillary therapeutic devices).
  • Participate in periodic weekend and off‑hour call as required.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • At least 1 year of X‑ray experience.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R).
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in patient positioning and imaging, equipment troubleshooting, and interventional procedures.
  • Documentation skills and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with interventional radiologists and RN.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, from elevated areas, in confined/cramped spaces, kneeling, bending at waist, squatting.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
  • Reach in all directions, good finger dexterity and ability to lift, pull, or carry up to 15 lbs (unassisted or from/to floor 36 inches).
  • Maintain vision (20/40 corrected), hearing, color discrimination, depth perception, and tactile/olfactory sensory function (selected positions).
  • Work in a latex‑safe environment and be respirator qualified as required.
