Job Summary

The MUSC Pediatric Cardiac Cath and EP Lab consists of two state‑of‑the‑art labs capable of performing hybrid OR procedures, supported by a dedicated Cardiac Prep and Recovery unit. The Pediatric Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist II reports to the Cath Lab Supervisor and the Interventional Cardiology and Imaging Manager. Under limited supervision, the RT performs and assists complex technical procedures, operating at a high level of technical competency and acting with initiative and ingenuity.

Schedule & Compensation

Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday–Friday (40 hours/week) plus on‑call duties. Hourly pay: Health‑27. Sign‑on bonus: $10,000 (eligible for external qualified candidates).

Minimum Training and Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiological Sciences, Registered Technologist, or an accredited school for Cardiovascular Technology/CVT.

Licenses, Certifications, and Requirements

• ARRT, CVIS, CRT, RCIS, or CVT
• Current BLS certification (completed within 30 days), PALS and ACLS (may be completed within first 6 months)
• Cath lab or Cardiovascular specialty certification preferred
• Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required

Physical Requirements

• Mobility & Posture: Continuous standing, sitting, walking; frequent kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting; frequent climbing stairs; frequent working from elevated or confined/cramped spaces.
• Manual Dexterity & Strength: Frequent pinching operations; continuous gross motor use; firm grasping; fine manipulation; reaching overhead and in all directions; continuous repetitive motion; full use of both legs; frequent balance & coordination; lift/carry 50 lbs. unassisted infrequently; lift/lower 50 lbs. from floor to 36″ infrequently; lift up to 25 lbs. overhead infrequently; exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
• Vision & Sensory: Maintain corrected vision 20/40 continuously; recognize objects, color, depth, peripheral vision continuously; hearing acuity continuously; tactile sensory function continuously; gross motor with fine motor coordination continuously; olfactory function continuously; respirator use qualification continuously.
• Work Environment & Conditions: Effective stress management continuously; rotating shifts frequently; overtime as required frequently; latex‑safe environment continuously.
