Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and safely prepare for interventional procedures.

Responsibilities

• Scrub into interventional procedures
• Provide care in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols
• Lead departmental programs and act as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students
• Assume routine supervisory duties in the absence of the team leader
• Verify physician orders and procedures
• Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care
• Explain procedures to patients
• Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures
• Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
• Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards

Requirements

• Completion of a formal training program and Radiologic Technology training program
• 5 years experience in Interventional Radiology
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
• Licensed by the Radiology Technology Board of Examiners in the state of practice
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
• Strong understanding of sterile technique
