Job description

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic angiographic procedures and complete complex vascular and non‑vascular interventional procedures exams on inpatient, outpatient and emergency department patients.
  • Assist radiologist and/or other physician with procedures and “scrubbing in” as necessary.
  • Perform each exam using proper technical and positioning factors in accordance to the protocol manual.
  • Monitor patient condition and evaluate exam for quality and completeness.
  • Set up and maintain sterile tray.
  • Operate all imaging and processing equipment using proper technique.
  • Utilize all EMR features and document: complete and accurate patient history, document any additional patient information in RIS for the radiologists’ review.
  • Provide care to all age groups: involve parents when appropriate, utilize radiation protection, and use additional personnel when appropriate.
  • Ensure that all exam information is correct, complete, and recorded, including supplies.
  • Ensure all forms completed for invasive procedures.
  • Complete online risk events.
  • Supervise students by ensuring exam within capabilities, providing direct supervision until competency, indirect supervision thereafter, evaluating and approving radiographic studies, and completing student objective sheets and area evaluations.
  • Perform basic safety: practicing isolation and universal precautions, participating in annual in‑services as required, awareness and communication of fall risks, practicing radiation safety, utilizing lead aprons, and closing lead‑lined doors.
  • Utilize knowledge of sterile technique.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Understanding of vascular anatomy.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current ARRT (R) and current license as a Radiologic Technologist by the State of Indiana required.
  • Preferred: ARRT(VI).
