Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, including angiography, while ensuring adherence to examination protocols for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. You will position patients, select protocols, and operate imaging equipment according to established standards.

Requirements include graduation from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program, no prior experience required, and ARDMS/ARRT

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No prior work experience required.
• AR DMS or ARRT radiographer registration upon hire and BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures as described, including angiography and related imaging studies.
• Positions patients, selects protocols, and uses required imaging equipment across age groups.
• Maintains competence with all procedure components and adheres to imaging protocols.
• Provides patient education and communicates in accordance with standards.
• adheres to radiation safety policies and dose reduction practices.
• Completes post-processing, documentation, and related record-keeping.

Responsibilities:

Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies. Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
