Job summary

The University of Chicago Medicine Pulmonary – Administration seeks a registered nurse to coordinate the Interventional Pulmonary Clinical Program. You will support diagnostic and therapeutic regimes for 4–6 physicians and explain diagnoses and procedures to patients.

The role acts as a liaison among patients, families, staff and physicians, schedules airway and pleural interventions, and ensures smooth discharge planning for inpatients and outpatients in a busy academic setting.

Qualifications

• Education: college/university degree in related field.
• Work Experience: 2-5 years in a related job discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimes for patients.
• Interact with patients to explain diagnoses, procedures, and treatments.
• Coordinate physician activities with referring physicians, nursing staff, hospital administration, and other services.
• Assist in scheduling and performing airway/pleural interventions for inpatients and outpatients.
• Liaise with patients, families, staff and physicians to ensure continuity of care.
