Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Interventional Procedures Assistant to support the procedural team during IR procedures. This role involves preparing sterile and nonsterile equipment, assisting with vascular access, and maintaining supply readiness on a busy ambulatory care unit.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification, with interest from nursing/allied health students for skill development in an acute care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist procedural team during IR procedures (physicians, RNs, radiology techs).
• Prepare sterile and nonsterile equipment, catheters, and tech used pre/intra/post procedure.
• Scrub assist and circulate: set up equipment, obtain necessary items, open products to sterile table.
• Assist physician in obtaining vascular access and line placements.
• Manage supplies and restock as needed.
• Handle the physical demands of the job including lifting 40–50 lbs and pushing/pulling 150–200 lbs.

Position Highlights

• Position: Interventional Procedures Assistant
• Hours: Weekday, day shift (7:30 am start)
• On Call: Rotating on-call responsibility (includes weekends)

What You Will Do

• Performs a combination of tasks/skills pre, during, and after the IR procedure to assist the procedural team (physicians, registered nurses and radiologic technologists).
• Prepares both sterile and nonsterile equipment, catheters, and technology utilized pre, intra, and post procedure
• Performs as a scrub assist aiding the physician and Radiology Technologist in circulating the procedure, setting up equipment, obtaining the necessary equipment needed for the procedure, open product as needed and dropping onto sterile table.
• Assist physician in obtaining vascular access (femoral, radial, brachial, jugular, peripheral, and transseptal), central venous line placement, and drain placement.
• Responsible for supply management and restocking of supplies
• The functional demands of the job are medium, requiring high energy level. Activity level throughout the work day; lift and carry 40-50 lbs., push/ pull +/- 150 – 200 lbs

• Certification: BLS Certification required
• Experience: Looking for applicants seeking knowledge and skill development in an acute care setting. Ideal applicant is students in Nursing or Allied Health fields (Radiology, Respiratory therapy, Ultrasound/Sonography).
