Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Interventional Procedures Tech for Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. Full-time, 40 hours weekly, with varied shift hours and on-call rotation.

Ideal candidates have ARRT certification and AMA-approved Radiologic Technology training, plus experience in IR or Cath Lab; BLS is required and ACLS is a plus. Sign-on bonuses are offered for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program with ARRT certification.
• CPR: BLS for Healthcare Provider (ACLS preferred).
• Experience in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath Lab preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult and geriatric patients based on developmental stages.
• Educate patients and families about procedures performed.
• Assist nurses and physicians in patient assessment and monitoring.
• Prepare outpatients for procedures with the nurse.
• Scrub, circulate, and assist with hemodynamics and post-procedural care.
• Monitor radiographic equipment during invasive cardiac procedures.
• Maintain documentation and archiving transfers for procedures.
• Possibility of on-call status for emergency procedures.

Hourly Pay Range: $37.47 - $58.08 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Sign on Bonus: $20,000 (1+year of experience as an Interventional Procedures Tech in IR or Cath Lab)
• Sign on Bonus: $15,000 (new grads/less than 1 year of Interventional Procedures Tech experience)

Location: Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL

Full Time - 40 hours/week Hours: varied hours, 6:30am - 5:00pm

Required Travel/Rotation: None Requires On-Call Responsibility

What you will need

• Previous experience working in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath Lab procedures highly preferred, but not required
• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, ARRT certification
• CPR: BLS for a Healthcare Provider issued by the American Heart Association (ACLS preferred)
• Competency in EKG and hemodynamic monitoring required

What you will do

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to care for adult and geriatric patients based on the developmental stages of the patient.
• Instructs and educates patient and family regarding procedures performed in a comprehensive manner, considering the developmental needs of the patient.
• Assists nurse and physician in patient assessment and monitoring.
• Assists nurses preparing outpatients for procedures.
• Performs daily assignments including scrubbing, circulating, recording hemodynamics, and administering post procedural care per policies.
• Monitors radiographic equipment during invasive and related cardiac procedures.
• Burns compact disc relative to the procedure being performed.
• Checks to make sure that all patient procedure transfer over to archiving system for permanent storage.
• May determine LV function from the LV angiogram acquired during digital imaging.
• May perform stenosis analysis on digital images.
• Attends all mandatory in-service education programs as required by area of service.
• Transports patients to and from the Cath Lab as needed.
• May perform quality control; maintains equipment according to established procedures and safety policies.
• Utilizes supplies and equipment in the provision of patient care in a manner that assures quality, cost effective patient care.
• Maintains responsibility for transport and inventory management of contrast media.
• Oversees the CD library.
• May assume on-call status to provide patient care in the lab during emergency procedures.
• Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies and procedures.
