Job summary

The New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) is seeking a full-time Physician (Pain Management) to join the Anesthesiology Service pain section in Albuquerque. This OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT remains open until 2027; qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies arise.

Responsibilities include interviewing and examining patients, performing fluoroscopy/ultrasound-guided pain interventions, and coordinating with the Interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship as required; non-citizens only when allowed by VA policy.
• MD or DO degree from an approved school.
• Current, full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• VA residency/board certification requirements apply for faculty status.

Responsibilities

• Interview and examine patients in the Anesthesia Interventional Pain Clinic.
• Perform interventional pain procedures/injections using fluoroscopic/ultrasound guidance.
• Review consultations and provide direct patient care across in-person and telemedicine visits.
• Maintain charting/docs in medical records while ensuring patient safety.
