CHRISTUS Health in Alamogordo, NM seeks a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pain Management Provider to join a growing team. This full-time, permanent role focuses on expanding access to interventional pain procedures and reducing opioid prescriptions, with a new GE ultrasound to support image-guided work.

The ideal candidate will have an MD or DO, fellowship in Pain Management, anesthesia background, and possibly neurology experience.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with fellowship in Pain Management.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Pain Management.
• Anesthesia background; Neurology considered.
• Spinal cord stim experience is ideal but not required.
• Comfortable with a fast-paced clinic and procedural schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventional pain management procedures (e.g., radiofrequency ablations, epidurals, medial branch blocks).
• Manage clinic schedule (Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) with 20–25 patients per day.
• Coordinate with onsite surgery center block scheduling; OR available for high-risk patients.
• Transition EMR systems to Epic by March 2026; ensure seamless care delivery.

Schedule: Full-time

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pain Management Provider to join a growing team in Southern New Mexico. This is a full-time, permanent position designed to expand access to Interventional Pain Management procedures and reduce opioid prescription. The incoming physician will have access to a brand-new GE ultrasound, supporting high-quality, image-guided procedures.

Practice Highlights:

• Clinic Hours: Clinic hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Clinic Volume: Approximately 20-25 patients per day, with procedure frequency varying based on need.
• Procedure Volume: Varies;Four procedural day weekly, block scheduling at onsite surgery center. OR available for higher risk patients
• Procedures Performed-Includes but is not limited to:
  • Radiofrequency ablations
  • TOCS (Thoracic Outlet Compression Syndrome)
  • Epidurals
  • Medial branch blocks etc.
• EMR Systems: Athena (clinic), Cerner (hospital);transitioning to Epic in March 2026

Ideal Candidate:

• MD or DO
• Background in Anesthesia, will consider Neurology
• Fellowship-trained in Pain Management
• Spinal cord stimulator experience is ideal but not required
• Comfortable with a fast-paced clinic and procedural schedule
