Job summary

The Pain Clinic Physician position within the Veterans Health Administration offers a comprehensive collaboration in an interdisciplinary PM&R setting to manage chronic pain with interventional procedures, behavioral health, and biopsychosocial strategies.

Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program; strong preference for fellowship in Interventional Pain Management and board certification/eligibility in Pain Medicine. English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Must meet basic requirements: US citizenship, MD or equivalent, current unrestricted license in US, VA-approved residency or equivalent training
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Preferred fellowship in Interventional Pain Management
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pain Medicine
• Ability to evaluate and diagnose opioid use disorder as part of pain management
• VA training opportunities available for addiction-related skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement treatment plans for a wide range of pain syndromes with interventional procedures and biopsychosocial approaches
• Perform outpatient pain management consults and follow-ups
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary pain team including physicians, PM&R, psychologists, pharmacists, and therapists
