Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Pain Medicine physician to deliver high‑complexity pain management for Veterans at a Level 1A VHA facility. The role includes performing advanced interventional procedures and leading multimodal strategies under PMOP guidelines.

The incumbent will practice with independent privileges, collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams, and ensure documentation accuracy in CPRS/EHR while supporting telehealth services as needed.

Qualifications

• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States
• Board certified or board eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine
• Completion of an accredited PM&R residency or equivalent
• Pre-placement TB testing and immunization evaluations

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑complexity pain management for Veterans at a Level 1A facility
• Perform advanced interventional pain procedures within privileges (epidural injections, RF ablation, joint injections)
• administer opioid stewardship per VHA policies and OSI/CARA requirements
• Collaborate with Whole Health, Behavioral Health, PT/OT and other services
• Document in CPRS/EHR and participate in PMOP metrics and performance improvement
