Job summary

MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center in Davenport, IA, is hiring a Registered Nurse to join the Interventional Cath Lab Team. The role encompasses direct patient care in catheterization procedures, scrub tech, circulator and hemodynamic monitoring, with a focus on safety and outcomes.

Requirements include an Associate degree (BSN preferred), Iowa RN licensure (IL license within one year), BLS and ACLS, plus 2 years Cath Lab or 3 years critical care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Cath Lab or 3 years critical care preferred
• Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa and IL RN license within one year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Mandatory Reporter
• Intermediate language, high math , high reasoning ability
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people
• Ability to work under pressure and with a large degree of independence
• Critical thinking skills
• Ability to perform within a team and good time management skills
• Strong knowledge base in cardiac anatomy, physiology and Cardiac care
• Must be able to analyze and interpret basic EKG tracings
• Knowledge of cardiac medications, hemodynamic monitoring and fundamentals of sterile technique

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in Cath Lab & other applicable procedural areas implementing an outcome‑based plan of care
• Identifies learning needs and teaches patients and families
• Uses equipment required to perform Cath Lab procedures
• Performs independently as scrub tech, circulator, and hemodynamic monitor
• Initiates BLS/ACLS protocols as appropriate in cardiac emergencies
• Coordinates and provides care with a team approach
• Facilitates medication administration and IV therapy
• Manages pain and conscious sedation per policy
• Maintains safety, infection control and patient care standards
• Completes assessments and documents findings
• Performs indirect patient care activities to maintain department standards
• Maintains equipment and participates in unit-based quality monitoring
• Supports precepting and mentoring of new staff
