Job summary

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center in Tennessee is seeking a Special Procedures Tech to join our cardiovascular team. This role operates on a day shift with 4 - 9's, 7am-4:30pm; on-call required; one weekend (Fri-Sun) per call schedule.

You will scrub and assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic studies, administer contrast media, manage IV access, and document exams in Meditech while ensuring patient safety and sterile technique.

Qualifications

• RCIS or RCES certification required or must complete within one year of hire date.
• ARRT Radiologic Technologist license (RT(R)) required.
• New or existing staff may be considered with 8 years procedure experience but must obtain advanced registration/certification (RCIS/RCES) or Radiologic Technologist license within one year of hire date.
• BLS required.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with patients, guests, physicians and other employees.
• RCIS program grads will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform contrast media administration according to age/weight guidelines.
• Set up sterile trays and maintain sterile field per hospital protocol.
• Scrub and assist interventional physician during interventional procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of drugs, their actions, side effects and contraindications.
• Start and maintain IV access.
• Document exams in Meditech, scan documents and verify images in PACS.
