Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Cardiovascular invasive specialist to provide direct and indirect patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. You will support diagnostic and interventional procedures across campus as needed and cross-train for related labs to meet department needs.

The role requires specialized cardiovascular science education and current certifications; ACLS/BLS compliance is expected.

Qualifications

• Specialized diploma or equivalent in cardiovascular science or radiology with cardiovascular experience.
• RCIS/RCES/RT/CCT certifications must be obtained within stated timeframes.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required within specified days.
• Demonstrates critical-thinking and decisive decision-making in critical situations.
• Knowledge of diagnostic/interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, peripheral and structural heart procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room with all anticipated supplies and equipment.
• Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping of the patient.
• Maintains medical/surgical asepsis.
• Performs haemodynamic and physiologic monitoring during procedures; assesses changes and responds.
• Scrubs, monitors, and circulates for diagnostic/interventional cardiac procedures.
• Assists the physician and maintains inventory and equipment.
