Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse for Interventional Cardiology. The role involves direct patient care, assessment at admission and throughout the stay, and collaboration with the health care team to ensure timely interventions.

BSN is required with active IL RN license and BLS certification. Additional certifications may be required based on unit, such as ACLS/PALS/TNCC, within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status upon admission and during care.
• Organize health data to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Identify problems needing immediate attention and communicate findings.
• Document diagnoses and plan of care with patient/family approval.
• Initiate and update discharge planning and patient education.
• Collaborate with health team members to optimize patient outcomes.
