Job summary

Northwell Health’s Interventional Cardiology division at Danbury Hospital seeks an experienced APN/PA to support diagnostic and complex endovascular procedures. The role involves pre/post-procedure patient management, education, and coordination with the Cath Lab team.

Responsibilities include inserting lines, managing medications, and ensuring discharge planning with detailed instructions. Strong clinical judgment and collaborative teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• APRN or PA license required.
• Master's level degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a related role.
• Skilled in taking patient histories, assessing conditions, and interpreting findings.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists and vascular surgeons with diagnostic and interventional cardiac and endovascular procedures.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure care under physician direction and write orders.
• Perform pre-procedure evaluation and obtain consent, educate patients on risks and alternatives.
• Administer IV medications and assist with vascular access and device insertions.
• Conduct post-procedure follow-up and prepare discharge instructions and prescriptions.
• Participate in on-call coverage 24/7 for emergencies and transfers.
• Contribute to data collection for registries or research as needed.
