Job summary

UPMC Memorial in York is seeking an Invasive Cardiac Technologist to support the Cath Lab. The role offers full-time employment with flexible schedules: a 4-day week with 10-hour shifts or 5-day week with 8-hour shifts, plus rotating on-call coverage. Sign-on bonus available for eligible hires.

The technologist will perform imaging procedures with independence, ensuring patient safety, radiation protection, and accurate data documentation throughout interventional and diagnostic procedures.

Qualifications

• Performs imaging procedures at technical level with independent judgment
• Uses two patient identifiers and universal protocol for procedures
• Communicates instructions clearly to patients to reduce anxiety
• Collaborates with patients and colleagues to expedite care
• Maintains point-of-care testing standards and quality control
• Assists as needed and performs standby call coverage as scheduled
• Administers contrast under physician supervision
• Demonstrates first assist competency
• Maintains aseptic technique and patient safety with time-out process
• Adheres to radiation safety practices and documents exposure
• Positions and uses radiographic techniques correctly for diagnostic/interventional procedures
• Supports other departments as needed and ensures proper equipment operation
• Ensures all images are coded and linked in PACS and charges captured
• Maintains ongoing education and competency

• Interacts with patients and staff with care, respect, and teamwork.
• Maintains point-of-care testing standards and daily quality control.
• Provides stand-by call coverage as scheduled.
• Administers contrast under physician direction.
• Demonstrates competency in first assist position.
• Supports aseptic technique and patient safety with time-out processes.
• Practices radiation safety and documents exposure.
• Performs proper patient positioning and radiographic technique.
• Supports other departments and operates equipment as needed.
• Ensures images are coded and archived in PACS and charges are entered.
