Job summary

The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) delivers knowledge-based care to assigned patients in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, planning, implementing, and evaluating care with emphasis on education and self-management. The role requires licensure, English proficiency, and adherence to VA policies during procedures and post-procedural care.

As part of the lab team, you will coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and support staff, supervise education, and participate in quality improvement

Qualifications

• English proficiency required for direct patient care per VA standards (38 U.S.C. 7403)
• Graduate or equivalent nursing education; eligible for licensure in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent, knowledge-based procedural care in the Cardiac Cath Lab
• Coordinate patient education, self-management and transitions of care
• Assist in procedures and post-procedural care; ensure safety and quality of care
• Educate patients and families and support staff in evidence-based practices
• Maintain equipment readiness and report changes to the care team
