Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools in Alabama is seeking a qualified teacher to join our team. Responsibilities include planning learning experiences, delivering instruction, and maintaining positive classroom behavior.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, Alabama Teacher’s Certificate, and at least three years of teaching experience. A criminal background check will be required at the applicant's expense, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate endorsed in the relevant subject area.
• Minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
• Must complete a criminal background check through the Alabama State Department of Education at your own expense.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.

• Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups.
• Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
• Maintains and submits records and reports.
• Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.
• Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Salary: Based on salary schedule for 187 days.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Evaluation: The performance of this job will be evaluated per provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of personnel.
