Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to communicate clearly and articulately.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other personnel.
  • Ability to give and follow directions.
  • Recordkeeping and clerical skills.
  • Patience and cheerfulness when working with school-age students.
  • Working knowledge of computers, email, and school devices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Crisis Intervention training completed.

Job description

Intervention Specialist, Mild/Moderate

Wadsworth City Schools – Wadsworth Intermediate School, Wadsworth Ohio

Full‑time position for the 2026‑2027 school year.

Intervention Specialist License / Certification required

Specialization: Mild/Moderate.

General Responsibility

Work with students, staff, and/or the Building Principal in support of all aspects of the MCDAC Program's general operation procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to, instruction and/or direction of individuals or groups of students using research‑based materials consistent with the LIFESKILLS/QUEST curricula. Additionally, work with Building Principal and other school personnel regarding the general operations and direction of the program to promote positive public relations.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent; current Counselor/Teacher Licensed preferred.
  • Good organizational and communication skills; able to communicate clearly and articulately.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other personnel.
  • Ability to give and follow directions.
  • Clerical skills including, but not limited to, filing, copying, and recordkeeping.
  • Enjoy working with school‑age students; patience and cheerfulness.
  • Working knowledge of copiers, faxes, other devices commonly used in public schools, and computers and e‑mail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Successful completion of Crisis Intervention training.
  • Initiative and anticipation of upcoming issues.
  • Other relevant criteria as determined by the Board of Education, Superintendent, and/or designee may be acceptable.
