Job Description

The Licking Regional ESC has an immediate opening for an Intervention Specialist to work with our ED department at our Phoenix Central location. Our students have emotional disabilities and require a sensitive and intuitive teacher. The successful candidate will work with small group of high need students. Applicant must hold a current Ohio Licensure as Intervention Specialist or have all the credentials to obtain one. CPI training is a plus but we will provide training if needed. Applicants should be self‑motivated, team oriented and be willing to take instruction.

• QUALIFICATIONS:
  1.Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree

  3.Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks
  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1.Ensures safety of students, taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
  2.Provides instruction to students demonstrating a knowledge of behavior management and motivational skills
  3.Reflects the annual goals and short term goals in the daily lesson plans and monthly activity plans
  4.Establishes a system of documentation/information collection to verify implementation of student progress toward goals and objectives relating to academic and behavior goals
  5.Responsible for the development and implementation of weekly lesson plans based on student needs
  6.Assists other school staff in implementing appropriate functional curriculum, instruction, and behavior management strategies
  7.Conducts parent meetings to develop and share information pertaining to student progress
  8.Completes written reports as assigned by the administration in an accurate and timely manner
  9.Demonstrates skill in prevention, redirection and crisis management
  10.Delegates and supervises the paraprofessional(s) assigned to his or her classroom
  11.Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance
  12.Maintains required license(s)
  13.Maintains respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., IEPs, medical records, court decisions, etc.
  14.Observes ethics of the teaching profession, exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability and sound judgment
  15.The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non‑prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment at the Center.
  16.Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings
