Job summary

The Licking Regional Educational Service Center (ESC) invites applications for an Intervention Specialist at Phoenix Central in Newark, Ohio. The ideal candidate will support students with emotional disabilities in a small-group setting, implementing behavior management and targeted instruction.

Requirements include Ohio licensure as Intervention Specialist or credentials to obtain one; Bachelor’s degree; and completion of CBC/BCI-FBI checks. CPI training is a plus; training provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
• Valid Ohio licensure/credentials for Intervention Specialist.
• BCI/FBI background checks must be completed.
• Commitment to safety, confidentiality and professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety of students and protects equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Delivers instruction with behavior management and motivational skills.
• Develops weekly lesson plans based on student needs and goals.
• Maintains documentation of student progress toward goals.
• Supervises paraprofessional staff in the classroom.
• Communicates with families and conducts parent meetings as needed.
• Maintains licensure and adheres to confidentiality and ethical standards.
