Job summary

Buckeye Elementary School District in Buckeye, Arizona seeks a Paraprofessional B - Intervention/Resource to assist and support students with educational needs under the supervision of teachers. Primary duties include implementing IEP accommodations and supporting reading intervention work.

This 10-month, 29-hours-per-week, part-time position begins immediately; requires AZ DPS IVP clearance, high school diploma, and First Aid/CPR certification; Spanish speaking preferred.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required).
• High School diploma or equivalent (required).
• First Aid/CPR Certification and AED required upon hire or within 30 days (in-person hands-on training/certificate, required).
• Ability to speak fluent Spanish (preferred).
• Obtain and maintain certification in Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills (written or oral).
• Experience working with school-age children and with students with severe needs.
• Experience in reading intervention classroom is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide services in regular classrooms and various special education settings.
• Supervise playground, lunchroom, bus area, and transportation duties as needed.
• Assist in instructional activities, materials, and language acquisition.
• Maintain classroom organization and safety; support teachers with instruction.
• Assist in field trips and extracurricular activities; support English language development.
• Record progress and communicate with teachers on student needs and progress.
