Qualifications

• Requires ISBE license or substitute certificate or IESA-approved coach education.
• Must complete district and IESA mandatory training (concussion protocols, CPR/AED, first aid, and cardiac arrest awareness) within required timelines.

Responsibilities

• Participate in coaching clinics and professional development when available.
• Mentor and collaborate with assistant coaches.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Department and Athletic Director on facility needs.
• Inspect home facilities, ensure cleanliness, and set up sport-specific needs for home games.
• Maintain flexible practice schedules and be available for five weekly practices, including Fridays.
• Hold open gym sessions before the season when appropriate.
• Conduct practices with district, Athletic Director, and facility schedules, typically until 4:30 p.m. during the season.
• Attend conference and school athletic meetings.
• Communicate schedules and information daily with parents, families, and athletes.
• Distribute, collect, and inventory equipment and uniforms.
• Follow all safety procedures and coaching protocols.
