Job summary

The U.S. Department of the Interior's National Park Service seeks an interpreter to develop and present learner-centered interpretive experiences for diverse audiences, both in person and via interpretive media. You will coordinate visitor services, schedule tours, and mentor staff while delivering education programs aligned with standards.

You must be a U.S. citizen, pass background checks, and meet credential requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment.
• Uniform standards apply and a uniform allowance is provided.
• Complete required training and obtain a government travel/purchase credit card.
• May work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Probationary period may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present a variety of learner-centered interpretive experiences.
• Coordinate operation of a visitor facility and information desk.
• Develop daily work schedules and assignments for supervisor approval.
• Mentor, coach, and evaluate interpreters; provide constructive feedback.
• Deliver in-park, off-site, and virtual education programs aligned with standards.
• Perform scheduling and data gathering for reports and record-keeping.
