Qualifications

  • This position does not allow substituting education for experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Direct Deposit participation required.
  • Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment.
  • You are required to wear a uniform and comply with the uniform standards.
  • A uniform allowance will be provided.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age or older to operate government vehicles.
  • As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year Probationary Period.

Responsibilities

  • Informs visitors including students about park facilities and resources through informal interpretation.
  • Schedules and organizes program logistics and provides input and ideas on program development.
  • Develops and presents a variety of formal and informal interpretive programs as well as curriculum-based education programs to students of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Serves as a role model for other staff members, including volunteers, and assists with program development and training.
  • Mentor seasonal staff by providing guidance and feedback.
  • Communicate with educational groups, teachers, the public, and community which include people of various ages and backgrounds under a variety of circumstances.
