North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks an Interpreter Services Specialist to provide communication access for staff and consumers in the Greensboro Regional Center. Travel covers 10 NC counties and occasionally statewide, including nights and weekends.
Lead for interpreters in the region, responsible for mentoring, coordinating trainings, and ensuring ADA compliance and licensure standards. Bachelor's degree and two years of interpreting experience required.

The Interpreter Services Specialist position provides communication access (ASL interpreting and coordination) for the staff and consumers of the Greensboro Regional Center. Travel will include coverage of the region's 10 counties plus statewide, as needed, occasionally involving nights and weekends. Position provides unique interpreting services as well as mentoring services for the 10 central most counties of NC. The position is also the primary lead position within the regional center to provide services to our large group of interpreters within our 10-county region. It requires demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in serving a wide variety of the needs of the target population.
Salary Range: $55,221 - $96,639 Recruitment Range: $55,221 - $75,930
To qualify for the Sign-On Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
All Sign-On Bonuses are contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.
