Job summary

Purple Communications Inc in Orlando, FL seeks a Team Manager - Practitioner to lead interpreting operations on the VRS platform and oversee a team of interpreters. This hourly, full-time role includes scheduling, reporting, and collaboration with HR for staffing needs.

Role focuses on growth of VRS, community and VRI lines, while maintaining high service levels and compliance with RID/FCC standards. Strong leadership and customer relations are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess fluent American Sign Language and spoken English.
• Must pass internal interpreting assessment.
• 20 hours per week scheduled on the VRS platform between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Associates degree in Business Management, or comparable related experience; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in interpreting-related environment.
• Familiarity with FCC regulations and RID standards.
• Knowledge of departmental operations, and organizational policies, processes, and procedures.
• Strong time management and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide American Sign Language interpreting on the VRS platform.
• Oversee the daily operations of the interpreting operations, including call centers, at-home interpreting, community interpreting, CART, video interpreting, and community relations.
• Supervise approximately 35 interpreting staff and manage performance reviews.
• Coordinate with HR and Recruiting to select and hire interpreters.
• Approve scheduling and time/attendance for interpreters.
• Maintain relations with local community leaders and ensure client service satisfaction.
• Produce accurate reports on team performance, efficiencies, and quality.
• Collaborate with Regional Manager on growth strategies for VRS, Community, and VRI.
