Job summary

Greater St. Louis Area Council offers a paid, part-time internship designed to immerse high school students in the nonprofit sector and Scouting operations.

You will work approximately 20 hours per week, gain hands-on experience, and receive mentorship from seasoned professionals while documenting your learning journey. The program runs for 12-16 weeks in Spring 2026, with opportunities to participate in meetings, training, and various projects that develop communication, organization, and

Qualifications

• High School diploma, or currently enrolled high school junior or senior.
• A genuine interest in the non-profit sector and/or Scouting America.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior non-profit experience or coursework in fundraising, management, or marketing (a plus!).
• Strong organizational, self‑motivation, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• A commitment to the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
• Schedule and hours are negotiable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with a professional Scouter for approximately 20 hours per week.
• Documenting your learning journey through weekly activity logs.
• Participating in mid-term and final evaluations with your mentor.
• Attending meetings, training, and activities to explore diverse career paths within Scouting.
• Completing assigned projects and tasks.
• Becoming a member of Scouting America and upholding the Scout Oath and Law.
