Job summary

Greater St. Louis Area Scouting invites motivated students to join our nonprofit internship, gaining hands-on experience in leadership, fundraising, marketing, and program development.

You'll work closely with seasoned professionals for 12-16 weeks, about 20 hours per week, and contribute to meaningful community programs. You'll document your learning through weekly logs, participate in mentor evaluations, attend trainings, and receive mentorship, mileage reimbursement, and a valuable addition

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or current student status.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior non-profit experience or coursework in fundraising, management, or marketing (a plus!).
  • Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a professional Scouter for approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Document learning journey through weekly activity logs.
  • Participate in mid-term and final evaluations with your mentor.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and activities to explore diverse career paths within Scouting.
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks.
  • Become a member of Scouting America and uphold the Scout Oath and Law.

About Us:

Greater St. Louis Area Scouting is a vibrant 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to shaping future leaders through character development and community engagement. We're offering a unique internship program designed to immerse you in the heart of our operations, providing hands‑on experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:

As an intern, you'll be more than just an observer. You'll be an integral part of our team, working alongside experienced Scouters to:

  • Gain firsthand knowledge of the non-profit sector and the impact of our programs.
  • Hone your communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Assist with program development, fundraising initiatives, marketing campaigns, and more.
  • Receive personalized mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.
  • Fulfill your high school, college, or university internship requirements (12-16 weeks).
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Strong organizational, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A commitment to the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Schedule and hours are negotiable.
