Job summary

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. in Alabama offers a paid internship targeting engineering students to join a cross-functional project team.

You will engage with areas like body shop, paint shop, assembly, logistics, and quality to drive project objectives and process improvements. The role requires active university enrollment in a related field with at least 3 semesters completed and a commitment of 6 months.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a university program in a relevant field (engineering, business, economics).
  • Minimum of 3 semesters of studies in a related field.
  • Available for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Studies outside of the USA preferred; applications from students currently studying in the USA are not accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cross-divisional topics with varying production areas (body shop, paint shop, assembly, logistics, quality).
  • Prepare and follow up on meetings; assist in reporting.
  • Coordinate planning, development and production workshops and appointments.
  • Assist in implementing and advancing project management methods.
  • Support projects during the transition to plant phase.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on ad-hoc projects.

Essential Functions:
Participation in a new type project (vehicle) in the plant project lead function:
  • Control and coordination of critical and cross-divisional topics with different production areas (body shop, paint shop, assembly, logistics, quality)
  • Involvement in reporting as well as the preparation and follow-up of meetings
  • Coordination appointments and workshops with the areas of planning, development and production
  • Participation in the implementation and further development of project management methods
  • Support projects in transition to plant phase
Other Regular Daily Tasks:
  • Work directly with key personnel to understand project concept, objectives, and approach
  • Working with cross functional teams on ad-hoc projects
Qualifikationen

Education, Experience and Necessary Skillsall must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education

Student in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Project Management skills
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, especially Power Point, Excel and Adobe
  • Confident German and English skill, both written and spoken
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills

  • February 2027
