Job summary

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) in Alabama invites students to join as HR Interns to manage international interns across recruiting, onboarding, and visa processes. You will work closely with multiple departments to ensure smooth intern experiences and compliance.

The role requires enrollment in a relevant program, strong English, and willingness to stay at least six months. Monthly housing bonus and visa costs coverage are provided as part of the internship package.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in university or gap year between degrees.
• Minimum 3 semesters in relevant field of study.
• Available for at least 6 months.
• Studies outside the USA (not currently studying in the USA).

Responsibilities

• Recruit and manage all international interns, including posting online ads, interviewing, and creating offers.
• Administer HR software and coordinate with MBUSI departments.
• Support interns with visa processes and liaise with US authorities.
• Assist onboarding and handle HR topics for interns (taxes, payroll, etc.).
• Create budget overview for all international interns.
• Conduct exit interviews and prepare letters of recommendation.

Essential Functions

• Management of all international interns at MBUSI including: Recruiting and application process (e.g. create online job advertisements and manage applications, conduct interviews, create offer letters, etc.)
• Actively administer HR software
• Close cooperation with all departments at MBUSI
• Support interns with visa process (alignment with visa sponsors and direct contact to US authorities)
• Onboarding (e.g. support on the first day, legal matters, etc.)
• Act as HR contact partner for past, current, and future interns regarding all HR topics (e.g. legal matter, taxes, payroll, etc.)
• Create budget overview for all international interns at MBUSI
• Offboarding (e.g. conduct exit interviews, creation of letters of recommendation, etc.)

Other regular daily tasks

• Plan, organize, and implement HR projects

Qualifications

Education

Student in: Business Management, Human Resources or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
