The Temporary EHS Intern will support the Environmental, Health & Safety function at Oxford Forge by assisting with daily EHS activities, compliance initiatives, safety inspections, training, documentation, and continuous improvement projects.

This role provides hands-on experience in a metal-forming manufacturing environment while supporting the plant’s commitment to a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine workplace safety inspections and observations.
  • Support identification and documentation of workplace hazards and safety opportunities.
  • Assist with tracking corrective and preventive actions through completion.
  • Support EHS-related training, including preparation of training materials and documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining required EHS records, reports, forms, and documentation.
  • Participate in safety meetings and employee engagement activities.
  • Assist with incident documentation, investigations, and follow-up activities.
  • Support safety audits and compliance inspections.
  • Assist with maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical-related documentation.
  • Support environmental compliance activities and required recordkeeping.
  • Assist with monitoring housekeeping, PPE usage, machine guarding, ergonomics, and other workplace safety requirements.
  • Help develop and organize safety communications, signage, and employee awareness materials.
  • Assist with EHS projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collect and organize EHS data and assist with preparing reports and presentations.
  • Work with employees and supervisors to promote safe work practices.
  • Perform other EHS-related duties and special projects as assigned.
