The Temporary EHS Intern at Oxford Forge will support Environmental, Health & Safety activities, inspections, training, documentation, and continuous improvement projects in a metal-forming plant. You will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while helping maintain a safe, compliant workplace.

  • Assist routine workplace safety inspections and observations.
  • Help document hazards and safety opportunities.
  • Track corrective and preventive actions through completion.
  • Support EHS training and prep training materials.
  • Maintain EHS records, reports, forms, and documentation.
  • Participate in safety meetings and employee engagement activities.
  • Assist with incident documentation, investigations, and follow-up.
  • Support safety audits, SDS management, and environmental compliance.
  • Monitor housekeeping, PPE usage, machine guarding, ergonomics, and safety requirements.
  • Assist with EHS projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collect and organize EHS data and assist with reports.
  • Work with employees to promote safe work practices.
  • Perform other EHS duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary

The Temporary EHS Intern will support the Environmental, Health & Safety function at Oxford Forge by assisting with daily EHS activities, compliance initiatives, safety inspections, training, documentation, and continuous improvement projects. This role will gain hands-on experience in a metal-forming manufacturing environment while supporting the plant's commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace.

The intern will work closely with EHS and plant leadership to help identify safety opportunities, track corrective actions, maintain records, support employee engagement initiatives, and assist with special EHS projects as assigned. This is a temporary position designed to provide additional support to the EHS function while providing valuable practical experience for an individual pursuing a career in Environmental Health & Safety.

Job Description:
  • Assist with routine workplace safety inspections and observations.

  • Help develop and organize safety communications, signage, and employee awareness materials.
  • Assist with EHS projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collect and organize EHS data and assist with preparing reports and presentations.
  • Work with employees and supervisors to promote safe work practices.
  • Perform other EHS-related duties and special projects as assigned.
