Job summary

HonorVet Technologies seeks an International Trade Associate to support our Washington, DC office. The candidate will handle export controls (EAR/ITAR), OFAC, and cross-border investment controls with guidance from senior practitioners.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of related experience, strong writing skills, and a commitment to exceptional client service. Admission to the Washington, DC Bar is required.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of relevant experience in international trade law and export controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist with export controls (EAR/ITAR) and OFAC compliance.
• Support cross-border investment controls including CFIUS and related regimes.
• Draft and edit legal memos and client communications.
• Collaborate with practitioners to manage client matters and deadlines.

Job Description

• Client is seeking a mid‑level associate to join our International Trade practice in the Washington, DC office.
• The successful candidate will have three to five years of relevant experience and a solid working knowledge of export controls (EAR and ITAR), economic sanctions (OFAC), cross‑border investment controls including CFIUS and OISP, FOCI mitigation, and other trade‑related regulations.
• Experience in customs/in‑bound trade compliance would be a plus.
• Strong writing abilities and proven project management skills are also essential.
• Associates in this role will collaborate directly with seasoned practitioners who are committed to hands‑on mentoring and providing meaningful opportunities for greater responsibility and client interaction.
• Ideal candidates are proactive self‑stops capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
• We also look for candidates with outstanding academic records, superior communication skills, and a genuine dedication to delivering exceptional client service.
• All candidates must be admitted to the Washington D.C. Bar.
