Job summary

Pan Atlantic Foundation seeks an International Area Representative to engage communities, recruit host families, and raise awareness of international student exchanges. You will guide families through the application process and ensure a successful match.

The role involves interviewing host families, verifying references, and conducting orientation sessions. A passion for cultural understanding and teen mentorship is essential.

Responsibilities

• Represent Pan Atlantic Foundation professionally in your community.
• Find hosts, build relationships with schools, raise awareness of student exchange.
• Lead host families to iwanttohost.org to complete online applications.
• Conduct in-home interviews with host families and check references.
• Perform a host family orientation before student arrival.
• Monthly follow-up with hosts and students and document interactions online.
• Work to match four students with families to qualify for travel incentives.

About the International Area Representative position

Duties

• Professionally represent Pan Atlantic Foundation in your community
• Find Hosts, maintain relationships with schools, and raise public awareness about student exchange
• Lead Host Family to website to complete the online application: iwanttohost.org
• Complete an In-home Interview with the host family and Check References
• Perform a Host Family Orientation before the student arrives
• Monthly Check in – call or visit the Hosts and Student once a month and document online

Compensation

• $1000 per placement for academic year student, $800 for one semester student
• Opportunity for Travel to our Annual Pan Atlantic Foundation Conference!! (all expenses paid!) (Match 4 students with families to Qualify!)
• Additional Incentives may be offered throughout the year as well

Personal Requirements

• Must own a computer and have internet access
• Must have a genuine interest in working with teens and families
• Must be mature and able to remain objective
• Must be professional in appearance and in manner
• Good counseling skills are very helpful in this job
• Must be critically perceptive and objective in working with potential host families
• Must be over the age of 25
• Should be well-networked in their community
• A sensitivity, understanding and passion for creating global understanding between cultures
