Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL, seeks an International Student Advisor and Program Development Coordinator to provide quality advising to undergraduate F-1 students, coordinate ISP programs, and manage office operations. The role reports to the Director of International Student Programs and is a 1.0 full-time equivalent position with 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
US citizen or permanent resident status required to serve as a DSO.
1-2 years of international student advising preferred.
Strong verbal, written, and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Multitasking, detail-oriented, and well-organized; intercultural competence when working with international students and families.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for Wheaton College undergraduate students; maintain SEVIS records and stay current with regulations.
Provide quality advising to undergraduate F-1 students on visa requirements, benefits, and applications (e.g., OPT, CPT, RCL) via appointments and Terra Dotta.
Issue and send visa documents and orientation packets in collaboration with Admissions and Student Financial Services.
Coordinate ISP office programs including Orientation and Student Leader Training; connect students with College departments and resources.
Manage office administration: recruitment/training of student workers, budget tracking, office communications, and file maintenance.
