Job summary

JCTM is seeking an International SOF Support SME to assist the J3-I Plans and Operations Branch in coordinating Partner Nation support to U.S. operations.

The role requires working with Theater Special Operations Commands, USSOCOM, NATO SOF, and Partner Nation representatives to drive deconfliction, integration, and informed decision making. Ideal candidates have a TS/SCI clearance, SOF selection program background, and extensive multinational operational experience, with a willingness to travel

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Graduation from a U.S. SOF component selection and assessment program (e.g., Special Forces Qualification Course, BUD/S)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • At least one year of recent combat or operational multinational experience within the last five years
  • At least three years of recent regional experience with a Geographic Combatant Command or Theater Special Operations Command staff
  • Graduation from a Joint Professional Military Education course or equivalent
  • Experience in international SOF environments with multinational partners
  • Experience coordinating with international military partners and operational HQs
  • Strong planning, analytical, briefing, coordination and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on-site at MacDill AFB and travel CONUS/OCONUS as required

Responsibilities

  • Identify international SOF requirements and coordinate with U.S. SOF HQs and operational elements
  • Maintain portal-based tracking for Partner Nation requests for support and status
  • Track and support requests for Partner Nation SOF capabilities and operational support
  • Develop and maintain a common operational picture of Partner Nation SOF operations
  • Ensure Partner Nation interests are considered in USSOCOM planning forums
  • Plan and prepare content for meetings and secure VTCs and planning sessions
  • Coordinate activities with Theater Commands, NATO SOF HQ, and Partner Nation SOF Headquarters
  • Coordinate Partner Nation inputs to seminars and synchronization forums
  • Enhance enterprise planning by integrating Partner Nation SOF units and capabilities

Location: MacDill Air Force Base, Florida; CONUS/OCONUS temporary duty travel as required

As an International SOF Support SME with JCTM, you will support the J3-I Plans and Operations Branch in coordinating Partner Nation support to U.S. operations where national and security interests align. You will work with Theater Special Operations Commands, USSOCOM staff elements, NATO SOF Headquarters, SOF components, and Partner Nation representatives to identify operational requirements, close information gaps, and integrate international SOF capabilities into enterprise planning.

Your work will contribute to the development of the international SOF common operating picture and help ensure Partner Nation strategic interests and capabilities are represented in USSOCOM planning and synchronization forums.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify international SOF requirements and areas requiring deconfliction, synchronization, or coordination with U.S. SOF headquarters and operational elements.
  • Maintain portal-based tracking mechanisms for Partner Nation requests for support, information, guidance, and operational-deployment status.
  • Track and support action on U.S. requests for Partner Nation SOF capabilities and operational support.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a common operational picture of Partner Nation SOF operations and activities.
  • Ensure Partner Nation strategic interests and capabilities are considered in USSOCOM planning and synchronization forums.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and prepare content for meetings, secure video teleconferences, and collaborative planning sessions.
  • Coordinate activities with Theater Special Operations Commands, USSOCOM components, NATO SOF Headquarters, Partner Nation SOF headquarters, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate Partner Nation inputs to senior leader seminars, Global SOF Synchronization activities, Trans-Regional Synchronization Forums, Strategic Coalition Alignment Forums, key leader engagements, and J3-I communities of interest.
  • Enhance USSOCOM enterprise planning by integrating Partner Nation SOF units and capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain metrics assessing Partner Nation integration into SOF enterprise planning.
  • Coordinate with Foreign Disclosure officials regarding the release of plans and information to Partner Nation representatives.
  • Track requests for information, support, guidance, and authorized disclosure.
  • Integrate Partner Nation SOF representatives into planning activities when authorized.
  • Identify barriers to Partner Nation participation and recommend options to address or resolve them.
  • Collect Partner Nation information and prepare situation reports supporting J3 situational awareness and senior-leader decisions.
  • Synchronize Partner Nation reporting with information from Special Operations Liaison Officers, U.S. embassies, Theater Special Operations Commands, Geographic Combatant Commands, and other operational headquarters.
  • Support management of the J3-I facility’s daily operational schedule, secure collaboration spaces, conference areas, and country coordination rooms.
  • Lead or support the preparation and publication of J3-I situation reports.
  • Perform facility close-out and escort duties in accordance with Division security procedures.
  • Support CONUS and OCONUS travel requirements.

You Have
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Graduation from a U.S. SOF component selection and assessment program, such as the U.S. Army Special Forces Qualification Course, Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training, or another SOF component equivalent.
  • A bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university.
  • At least one year of recent combat or operational experience within the last five years as part of a multinational special operation or comparable coalition mission.
  • At least three years of recent regional experience within the last seven years as a member of a Geographic Combatant Command or Theater Special Operations Command staff.
  • Graduation from a Joint Professional Military Education course, Intermediate Development Course, Senior Professional Military Education course, or equivalent program.
  • At least one year of experience in an international SOF environment, such as a multinational SOF headquarters, NATO SOF Headquarters, or a Combatant Command coalition coordination center.
  • Experience with foreign disclosure processes and the authorized release of information to international partners.
  • Experience coordinating with international military partners and operational headquarters.
  • Strong planning, analytical, briefing, coordination, and written communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple operational information requirements and produce accurate, timely staff products.
  • The ability to work on-site at MacDill Air Force Base and travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required.
Nice to Haves
  • Familiarity with Global SOF Synchronization, Trans-Regional Synchronization Forums, or similar multinational planning forums.
  • Experience preparing situation reports, maintaining operational trackers, or supporting an operations center.
  • Experience using secure collaboration platforms and knowledge-management portals.
  • Prior assignment to USSOCOM, a Theater Special Operations Command, NATO SOF Headquarters, or a coalition coordination center.
Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information access is required.
