JCTM seeks an International Conference Planner SME to support USSOCOM's Directorate of Operations in planning SOF Week, the Strategic Coalition Alignment Forum, and other high-profile events.

You will coordinate with military, government, civilian, and international partners to ensure secure, professional execution while managing schedules, venues, and vendor services.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or related field.
  • Experience in event planning, project management, conference coordination, or operations leadership.
  • Experience working with government agencies, military organizations, or similarly complex institutions.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional team management.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, stakeholders, and action items.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site at MacDill Air Force Base and travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage plans for SOF Week, the Strategic Coalition Alignment Forum, and other high-profile international events.
  • Establish event milestones, schedules, deadlines, dependencies, and coordination requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, Theater Special Operations Commands, USSOCOM components, headquarters staff, international partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain integrated event schedules that support seamless execution.
  • Oversee venue logistics, event-related services, vendor coordination, and applicable contractual support.
  • Lead cross-functional planning and execution teams.
  • Provide clear direction, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and address performance or scheduling concerns.
  • Serve as the principal point of contact for planning updates, coordination issues, and event-related challenges.
  • Ensure event activities remain aligned with mission objectives, security requirements, quality standards, and intended outcomes.
  • Identify event risks and develop practical contingency plans.
  • Coordinate the participation and support of military, government, civilian, and international stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with participating organizations and representatives.
  • Track stakeholder requirements and ensure their needs and objectives are addressed throughout the planning process.
  • Monitor due-outs and action items from initial creation through coordination, signature, and final delivery.
  • Conduct or support operational planning teams across the SOF enterprise.
  • Assess event effectiveness and prepare reports, observations, and recommendations to improve future events.
  • Gather, organize, and incorporate participant and stakeholder feedback.
  • Maintain planning trackers, event calendars, meeting notes, status reports, briefing materials, and other coordination products.
  • Perform facility close-out and escort duties in accordance with Division security procedures.
  • Support CONUS and OCONUS travel requirements as directed.

As an International Conference Planner SME with JCTM, you will support the USSOCOM Directorate of Operations, J3-International Division, in planning and coordinating SOF Week activities, the Strategic Coalition Alignment Forum, and other high-profile events.

You will serve as a central organizer for logistical, operational, and collaborative activities, working across USSOCOM headquarters, Theater Special Operations Commands, components, international partners, vendors, and other stakeholders. Your work will help ensure that complex events are executed securely, professionally, and in alignment with USSOCOM objectives.

Key Responsibilities

You Have

Nice to Haves
  • Familiarity with Special Operations Forces or similar military communities.
  • Experience supporting SOF Week, senior-leader conferences, multinational forums, military symposia, or executive-level events.
  • Experience coordinating events involving more than 500 participants.
  • Experience working with Theater Special Operations Commands, Combatant Commands, military components, or international partner organizations.
  • Experience managing venue logistics, vendor services, executive itineraries, participant registration, protocol requirements, or distinguished-visitor support.
  • Familiarity with the Strategic Coalition Alignment Forum or similar multinational planning events.
  • Experience preparing after-action reports, lessons learned, event assessments, and recommendations for improvement.
Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information access is required.
