Job description

The International Services Advisor is responsible for advising international studentson matters related to their status as international students. The International ServicesAdvisor works with international students to aid them in maintaining lawful immigrationstatus by advising on immigration regulations, policies, and procedures. Additionally,this position assists students by serving as a Designated School Official (DSO).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Advise international students on matters relating to their specific immigration regulationsand visa statuses.
• Engage in frequent contact with international students until graduation to assiststudents with institutional compliance and federal regulations as related to internationalstudents.
• Advise students in making informed decisions regarding international visa requirements.
• Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO).
• Process international student requests, including I-20s.
• Manage the academic progress of international students and report this information,through a web portal, to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on a regular basis.
• Advise students on immigration status-related information.
• Oversee the maintenance of international student files to ensure accuracy in Sunapsisand SEVIS.
• Organize informational sessions for international students and academic advisors.
• Stay up-to-date on government updates for international students.
• Assist with admission processes when and if needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.
