Indiana University seeks an International Services Advisor (DSO) in Indianapolis to interpret U.S. immigration laws and counsel international students, scholars and staff on their stay in the United States and at the university.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of advising experience; a Master’s degree is preferred. You will develop policies, ensure compliance, and collaborate across IU Indianapolis departments to support international education initiatives.
The International Services Advisor serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) authorized by the Department of Homeland Security. This role interprets complex U.S. immigration laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as applied to individual international students at Indiana University (IU) Indianapolis.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
