Job summary

Link-Belt Cranes, headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, seeks a Logistics Specialist on 1st shift to optimize domestic and international transportation for inbound and outbound freight. You will select modes, monitor compliance, and coordinate port facilities to ensure timely, cost-efficient delivery of parts and whole goods.

Ideal candidates have a 4-year degree in Logistics or Business and at least five years in transportation/logistics, with heavy haul experience considered a plus.

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree preferably in Logistics or Business.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in transportation/logistics experience. Heavy haul experience helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Route and rate domestic/international machine or parts shipments while following international rules and terms of sales.
  • Prepare all international freight quotations, both ocean and air, to provide best cost measures and methods.
  • Negotiate yearly or multi-year contracts with freight forwarders and customs brokers and monitor paperwork for compliance.
  • Prepare yearly or multi-year competitive bid packages on imported machines and parts, both ocean and air.
  • Maintain international air freight program for Link-Belt international distributors with door-to-door cost and service concepts.
  • Coordinate custom clearance and expediting with US Customs or Brokers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
