Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a logistics/transportation professional to generate statistics and graphs for service and quality reports, and to negotiate carrier rates. The role supports international shipping solutions, customs processes, and expedited shipments for Mayo Clinic Laboratories and affiliates.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and four years of transportation-related experience required.
• Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field preferred and two years of transportation-related experience preferred.
• At least five years of prior experience in business, customer service, human relations and/or accounting is preferred.
• Must have skills in systems analysis, planning, and negotiating.
• Experience with couriers or logistics systems is a plus.
• Above average human relations, customer service, and communication skills are necessary to deal with clients, couriers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Generate statistics and graphs for reporting of customer service and quality control data, route review, and financial tracking.
• Participates in negotiation of carrier and courier rates.
• Works with Sales to facilitate delivery and arrival of patient specimens to MML; tracks shipments.
• Assists in designing and implementing international shipping solutions for MML clients; supports customs clearance and expedited shipments.
• Orders department and courier supplies; liaises with IATA, DOT, and international regulations; designs and tests shipping containers and methods.
• Monitors expenses and audits vendor invoices for Supervisor approval.
