Job summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s International Engineering Internship in North Kingstown, RI offers a summer term for Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Systems Engineering students. The program includes a follow-on year abroad in Hexagon Germany or Hexagon Italy, aligned with IEP requirements.

The internship involves hands-on work across mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing topics, mentored projects, and potential relocation for the European placement.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Systems or Computer Engineering degree program and in good academic standing.
• Preferably enrolled in URI International Engineering Program (IEP) for German or Italian.
• Minimum of two years of enrollment in the degree program.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Proficient in process writing and documentation.
• Able to work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, during the summer break.
• Able and willing to relocate to Germany or Italy for the following academic year.

Responsibilities

• Systems and mechanical engineering topics: guided execution of projects, engineering mentor support, configuration of Coordinate Measuring System, layouts or software tool creation/utilization, programming in measurement host software, troubleshooting multidisciplinary systems, integration of new products into existing systems.
• Manufacturing engineering topics: develops and writes work instructions and time estimates for assembly processes; supports continuous improvement activities; analyzes existing assembly methods to improve cost, reliability and quality; design, fabrication and implementaion of jigs, tools, fixtures and assembly aids.
