Job summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence in Milwaukee, WI is seeking Application Engineer Interns for Summer 2027. This internship targets students pursuing an engineering degree who expect to graduate in December 2027 or May/June 2028.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in technical customer support, software applications, and product demonstrations, with the potential to transition into a full-time role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
• Interest in engineering metrology and manufacturing technologies.
• Foundational knowledge of CAD/CAM tools, programming, or data analysis.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Support demonstrations of Hexagon's software to prospective customers.
• Assist with technical evaluations, testing, and configuration of applications.
• Troubleshoot customer issues under guidance from senior engineers.
• Contribute to training materials, documentation, and technical presentations.
• Shadow engineers in customer engagements to learn how solutions are tailored to industry needs.
• Participate in cross-functional projects bridging R&D, product management, and customer support.
• Learn industry best practices in CAD/CAM, simulation, and data analysis.

Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking Application Engineer Interns for Summer 2027. What You'll Do

• Support demonstrations of Hexagon's measurement and manufacturing software to prospective customers.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering, or related field of study.
• Demonstrated interest in engineering metrology and manufacturing technologies.
• Foundational knowledge of CAD/CAM tools, programming, or data analysis.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team setting.
• Curiosity and problem-solving mindset with a drive to learn.

On-site role with primary work at one of the following offices: North Kingstown, RI | Charlotte, NC | Detroit, MI | Dallas, TX | Irvine, CA | Miamisburg, OH | Wilmington, DE | Milwaukee, WI.

Primarily office-based with opportunities to visit customers or demo sites.

Regular use of computer equipment; occasional movement around labs or factory floor.

May involve light lifting (up to 15 lbs) of equipment or demonstration tools.

Team-oriented environment with collaborative problem-solving and technical engagement.
