In this position you will serve as the principal economist, responsible for preparing comprehensive regulatory analyses for CBP regulatory actions.
This position starts at a salary of $121,785.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $187,093 (GS-14 Step 10). Major Duties: Conducting detailed research by applying rigorous quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques and documenting findings to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and accuracy in assessing baselines, costs, benefits, and alternatives.
Developing, utilizing, and analyzing international trade data and financial models, including performing statistical analysis, forecasting, scenario planning, and ensuring data integrity. Preparing advanced economic and impact analyses related to CBP trade enforcement and compliance actions. Summarizing economic methodologies, analyses, and findings into clear, actionable insights for senior executives and other decision-makers.
Supporting policy formulation, procedural development, and program planning by participating in meetings, providing technical input, and offering economic insights that inform agency positions and meet internal and external review standards.
