Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment in Burr Ridge, IL is seeking a Distribution Compliance Specialist to act as SME for international shipments of products, cylinders, and other packages, and to manage DOT special permits.

You will serve as a representative to CGA, DGAC, and ACC, providing consultative advice to internal Linde business units and maintaining training on DOT/ADR/IATA/IMDG. Collaborate with global teams and regulators to ensure compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/associate's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 5 years’ experience in shipping/transportation compliance.
• Basic knowledge of export/import regulations.
• Strong communication skills and organizational agility.
• Solid organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and Lotus Notes database skills.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the Company representative of external organizations including CGA, DGAC, and ACC.
• Provide consultative advice to internal Linde business units.
• Serve as SME for international shipments of products, cylinders, and other packages.
• Manage renewals, modifications, party status for DOT special permits.
• Completes DOT special permits for new applications.
• Provides technical leadership on CGA issues to regulatory bodies, including DOT.
• Interface with Linde Government Affairs on legislation tracked by ACC, CGA and DGAC, sharing guidance with internal parties.
• Provide technical skill set in DOT and international transportation regulations.
• Maintain recurrent training on DOT, European ADR, IATA and IMDG code regulations.
• Networks with internal functions including international operations teams, global SHEQ, R&D, GOE, Procurement, Helium & Rare Gas, and Hydrogen.
