Job summary

Monster Energy is seeking an Assistant International Controller to oversee international accounting functions, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive close-process efficiency. You will supervise monthly close, reconcile ledgers, and manage AP/AR while guiding Accounting Managers across regions.

The role requires a CPA/CA/MBA in Finance and 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with SAP and advanced Excel skills. Travel up to 10%+ is expected in a global finance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• CPA / CA / MBA - Finance preferred.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in Finance or Accounting.
• Experience with private and public accounting sectors preferred.
• Experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with company procedures; collection of receivables; monitoring accounts payable.
• Assist in monthly/quarterly/annual close and prepare consolidated financial statements per GAAP; drive efficiencies.

A Day in the Life:

Reporting to the International Controller, the Assistant International Controller is responsible for financial proceedings of APAC and/or LATAM legal entities, subsidiaries of Monster. This position is responsible for the review of all accounting and financial functions to ensure compliance with GAAP and Country Accounting Standards.

Primary responsibilities include

• supervision of the monthly and quarterly close process including balance sheet reconciliations
• ensuring compliance with company procedures
• collection of customer and other receivables
• monitoring accounts payable
• The Assistant International Controller will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.

The Impact You'll Make:

• Financial statement preparation - must ensure all international subsidiary ledgers and reports are closed in a timely and accurate manner, with completion of the associated account reconciliations and reviews.
• Internal controls and reviews - must review all international controls and propose and implement new and amended control procedures.
• Financial standards - ensure that international finance teams are preparing financial information monthly/quarterly/annually using approved company financial reporting tools.
• Review the general ledger account analyses and monitor accounting activities for international entities
• Review country specific statutory audits, corporate income tax returns, and required indirect and direct tax returns of countries in which the company does business.
• Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
• Assist in monthly/quarterly/annual financial close process and manage preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP; help drive efficiencies and reduce close cycle period
• Oversee day-to-day accounting, with strong focus on AP and AR
• Manage Accounting Managers

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree Finance or Accounting required
• CPA / CA / MBA - Finance preferred
• Minimum 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in Finance or Accounting
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams
• Strong experience in private and public accounting sectors preferred
• Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
• Accountable for specific performance
• Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
• Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same
• Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
• Exceptional work ethic
• Experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience leading and developing accounting personnel
• Prior experience in some of the following areas: inventory accounting, foreign income taxes, VAT filings, payroll, travel accounting, accounts payable, and business systems
• Hands-on and detail oriented
• Ability to travel up to 10%+

Monster Energy provides competitive total compensation. The estimated annual salary range for this position is listed below. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.

Pay Range

$127,500 - $170,000 USD
